Road Trip to Convention

From the West | Los Angeles to Phoenix 

  • Cabazon Dinosaurs – As featured in movies, The World’s Biggest Dinosaurs™ museum has plenty to explore inside and out. Climb inside to the top of the T-Rex for a view of the desert. 
  • Joshua Tree National Park – At nearly 800,000 acres, the national park is larger than the state of Rhode Island and features two deserts. 
  • General Patton Memorial Museum – Set at the heart of the Desert Training Center from World War II, the museum walks you through military history since World War I. 

From the Northwest | Las Vegas to Phoenix

  • Hoover Dam Lookout – Get an overhead view of the Hoover Dam, take a tour including walking across it, and stand in two states at once.
  • Desert Caballeros Western Museum – Museum in downtown Wickenburg with exhibits on the Western heritage of the town.
  • Vulture City Mine and Ghost Town – An abandoned settlement initially established in 1863, it’s a popular spot to learn local and Arizona history.

From the West | Albuquerque to Phoenix

  • Dinosaurs in Holbrook – Holbrook, once a part of the original Route 66, is also home to Petrified Forest National Park and a lot of dinosaur fossils. See fossils or the real thing.
  • Grants, NM – Grants is the gateway to a number of national parks, monuments and Native American pueblos, including Chaco Canyon, El Malpais, El Morro, Acoma-Sky City and Laguna.

From the Southeast | El Paso to Phoenix

  • White SandsSee the sweeping scenery of the National Park or visit the White Sands Missile Range Museum.
  • Titan Missile Museum – Experience a relic of the Cold War and see the only remaining Titan II ICBM.
  • Saguaro National Park  – Named for the saguaro cati, the largest in the country, the park spans 92,000 acres split into two parks – one each to the east and west of Tucson.
